Strabag Bratislava
The structural development in Bratislava is gaining momentum quickly. The Austrian construction company, STRABAG, completed the first construction phase of a new central office building. The glass and glazings were manufactured by Petschenig glastec, a shareholder in UNIGLAS®, located in Austria which also has also manufactured single-pane safety glass in Bratislava in accordance with the newest state of glass processing and pre-stressing technology since 2005.
East of the city centre, the existing STRABAG branch offices share the new central corporate office building with ZIPP GmbH, a construction company that develops and produces pre-fabricated concrete components and builds them ready to use. The two shareholders moved into the first section of the building at the beginning of the year. The further building sections will be rented to third parties.
The Vienna-based planning firm, MHM architects, designed a meandering structure for the approximately 1.5 ha, rectangular property. The elongated, largely six-storied structure, overshadowed by a sixteen-storied high-rise building are largely elevated and the upper edge is slight slanted in places. This lends a certain lightness to the structural dimensions.
